The national flower of Indonesia, the Moon Orchid is native to Southeast Asia. Also nicknamed as Moth Orchids, their fragrances are more pronounced more during sunrise. The plant takes one year to flower and their delicate petals burn easily under direct sunlight. Being epiphytic plants, which means they obtain their nutrients and water from the air, meaning they don't actually need to be in the soil. They naturally attach to the branches or trunks of trees and only use the host tree as a home and aren’t parasitic to the tree in any way.
